Clubs

History of the Perth Karate Club Perth Karate Club started in 1964 with Sensei James McGuire at the Caledonian road Primary school, it was then run by Sensei David Stratton Until 1974 then Sensei Scott McNiven until 1978 and run by the now Shihan Martin Marlborough.

The club was Shotokan until 1983 when Shihan Martin Changed to Kyokushin full contact karate, affiliated clubs to Perth are Crieff, Methven, and Newburgh and there will be more in the near future.

The clubs are run under strict Bubo etiquette and spiritual teaching which is the way of Kyokushin Karate as taught by the late Sosai Mas Oyama.

Training schedule for various dojos are as follows.

Crieff

Training sessions are held in the Crieff leisure centre on Tuesday evenings at 7.00 PM

Perth

Training sessions are held in Goodlyburn primary school on Wednesday evenings at 7.00 PM

Methven

Training sessions are held in Methven community centre on Thursday evenings at 7.00 PM

Newburgh

Training sessions are held in Newburgh primary school on Thursday evenings at 7.00 PM
